East Davie Wastewater Collection System

Davie County, NC

New duplex submersible pump station, new triplex submersible pump station, approximately 3,600 LF of 18-inch gravity sewer, and approximately 4,700 LF of 8-inch force main, 6,600 LF of 16-inch force main, and 31,000 LF of 20-inch force main. Demolition of an existing pump station and retrofit/upgrades to an existing pump station.

Taylor Engineering Role: Full-time construction observation.

East Davie Project
2020 Townsend WTP Electrical Improvements Phase II

Greensboro, NC

Major electrical improvements the WTP and the addition of a 2nd generator, upgrades to high service pumping, and sedimentation basin sludge collection equipment replacement.

Taylor Engineering Role: Design of sedimentation basin sludge collection equipment including demolition of existing equipment, and detailed drawings and specifications for all equipment, piping, and ancillary systems; and design of chemical trenching from chemical tanks to feed point locations for lime slurry, caustic, fluoride, sodium hypochlorite, liquid alum, and ammonia.

Camp Burton Water and Wastewater Utilities Project

Greensboro, NC

Design of a new wastewater lift station, force main, and water main to provide water and sewer service to a new facility for the North Carolina National Guard.

Taylor Engineering Role: Force Main route evaluation and detailed design including drawings and specification for 4,100 LF of 20-inch force main from the Camp Burton Lift Station to Reedy Fork Force Main.

Collections Systems Project
Collections Systems Monitoring Services

Greensboro, NC

Comprehensive expert sewer flow monitoring services for a duration of three years.

Taylor Engineering Role: Rain Alert wireless rain gauge installation (15) throughout the City’s watersheds and periodic gauge maintenance, and Echo sewer flow monitor (10) periodic maintenance and wireless communications troubleshooting; site data sheet creation for all rain gauge and monitoring locations.

Valve-Criticality Project
Water Valve Criticality Assessment Project

Greensboro, NC

Water system asset inventory data analysis, water distribution modeling, and criticality assessments to prioritize valve maintenance, and critical valve exercising.

Taylor Engineering Role: Field assessments for over 70 valves in the water system and creation of individual valve maps; contractor oversight during valve exercising.

East Davie Project
North Buffalo Creek Watershed Study

Greensboro, NC

Field data collection and review of historical flooding events in the North Buffalo Creek drainage basin to determine the potential opportunities to better manage flooding within the watershed.

Taylor Engineering Role: Assistance in evaluating all pertinent stream crest gauges after rainfall events over a 6-month period, and assistance with public meetings.

McAdams Project
McAdams Road Water Line Replacement

Hillsborough, NC

Taylor Engineering designed a 6” water line along McAdams Road that will provide fire protection and eliminate a 2” dead-end water main to improve water age and quality.

Fiddler's Creek Project
Fiddler’s Creek Outfall

Winston Salem, NC

Detailed design services, including permitting, easement acquisition and construction and bidding support for 12,000 LF of 36-inch sewer outfall along Fiddler’s Creek.

Taylor Engineering Role: Coordination and oversight of geotechnical investigations, site visits to verify surveyed information, design and permitting of sedimentation and erosion control measures, assistance with cost estimating and constructability reviews for each design deliverable.

Idols Road Project
Idols Road Regional Lift Station

Winston-Salem, NC

Triplex regional wastewater pump station, 1,000 LF of 30-inch gravity sewer, and 1,200 LF of 20-inch force main.

Taylor Engineering Role: Full-time construction observation.

Churton Street Project
Churton Street Sewer Improvements

Hillsborough, NC

Replacement of approximately 275 LF of 8-inch gravity sewer, including the installation of a 65 LF 24-inch steel casing by jacking and boring, 4 precast concrete manholes, reconnection of 4 and 6-inch sewer laterals and other associated appurtenances.

Taylor Engineering Role: Periodic construction observation and assistance with contract administration (CA).
